Donor-Advised Fund Accounts and Access

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) account on WellFunded supports discovery, review, and coordination for charitable giving.

This article explains what a DAF account is and how access works for administrators and fundholders.

What is a DAF Account

A DAF account allows organizations and fundholders to:

  • Discover and review charities and projects

  • Organize and track giving activity

  • Coordinate internally or with advisors

  • Use tools such as CharityLists, Giving Opportunities, and WellCheck

DAF accounts are designed to support visibility and decision-making, not transactions.

Who Uses a DAF Account

There are two primary user types within a DAF account:

  • Administrators, who manage the account and user access

  • Fundholders, who participate in discovery, review, and giving activity

These roles reflect how DAFs typically operate outside the platform.

What Administrators Can Do

Administrators may:

  • Add or manage fundholder access

  • Support internal review and coordination

  • Oversee use of platform tools across the DAF account

Administrators do not process grants through WellFunded.

What Fundholders Can Do

Fundholders may:

  • Search for charities and projects

  • Create and manage CharityLists

  • Participate in Giving Opportunities

  • Review WellChecks and submissions

  • Make pledges or track giving goals

Access is designed to support review and coordination.

What to Know About Access

WellFunded keeps access simple.

There are no complex permission tiers or required workflows. DAF accounts are flexible and meant to fit your existing processes.

If you are unsure about your role or access, contact your DAF administrator.
