Overview of the Giving Process

WellFunded is designed to support discovery, clarity, and connection throughout the giving journey.

How Giving Begins

Giving on WellFunded typically starts with discovery.

Donors may:

  • Search for charities or projects

  • Browse curated opportunities

  • Review charity profiles and project details

  • Use tools like WellCheck to support due diligence

Charities do not need to apply to individual donors unless requested.

Reviewing and Exploring Options

As donors explore options, they may:

  • Compare charities or projects

  • Review governance, financial, and impact information

  • Save organizations for later review

  • Request additional information or a WellCheck

This stage helps donors build confidence before making a decision.

Expressing Interest or Intent

When a donor is interested, they may:

  • Reach out directly

  • Request a WellCheck

  • Respond to or create a Giving Opportunity

  • Make a pledge or signal intent to give

WellFunded supports communication but does not control donor decisions.

What Happens After Interest Is Shown

Once interest is expressed:

  • Charities are notified by email

  • Conversations continue directly between donors and charities

  • Giving proceeds through the donor’s usual process

WellFunded remains a support tool throughout the process.
