How Projects Appear in Search

Projects on WellFunded may appear in search and review when they are relevant to a donor’s interests or giving criteria.

This article explains where projects appear and how they are used during discovery and review.

Where Projects Appear

Projects may appear:

  • On your Charity Profile

  • In donor search results

  • When donors review or compare organizations

  • In Giving Opportunities created through WellConnect

Projects are always displayed alongside your organization information so donors can understand the context of the work.

Projects appear in search based on relevance.

Donors may surface projects when they search or filter by:

  • Impact or cause area

  • Geographic focus

  • Type of initiative or program

  • Funding needs or scope

Projects are not promoted or ranked manually.

What Donors See

When a donor views a project, they see:

  • A project overview and description

  • The intended impact or outcomes

  • Timeline or stage of progress

  • Funding needs or budget range

Projects are designed to be easy to review and compare across organizations.

Keeping Projects Discoverable

To improve how projects appear in search:

  • Keep project descriptions clear and specific

  • Update projects if timelines or funding needs change

  • Ensure impact areas and locations are accurate

Outdated or incomplete projects may still be visible but can be less helpful during donor review.
