A bit more about us that might help. We are a family of four in the Fraser Valley. David works in the trades and Sarah teaches part-time. Faith is genuinely the centre of how we live and give, not just a category we picked. Our tithe to Northview Community Church comes first every year, and everything else flows from there. On the kids, since we could only pick qualities as a group: Caleb (17) is the one with strong opinions about right and wrong, and he is quick to notice when someone is left out or treated unfairly. He gets fired up about justice. Hannah (14) is the tender one. She is deeply connected to her faith and curious about people and places far from home, and she shares without being asked. We would love the plan to give each of them a real role that fits who they are, maybe Caleb helping research an organization doing justice work, and Hannah staying close to the Compassion kids we sponsor since she writes most of the letters already. What we most want a year from now is for giving to be something we do together as a family, on purpose, in a way that reflects our faith, with our kids understanding why we give and not just that we do. We are open to one or two new organizations, but we are loyal people and we would rather go deep with a few we trust than spread ourselves thin.
